TRACEiT (non-contact 3D surface shape and roughness measurement device) is a non-contact 3D surface shape/roughness (Ra/Rq/Rz) measurement device that uses white LEDs. It can measure an area of 5 mm × 5 mm in a short time (approximately 10 seconds) with a resolution of a few micrometers. Additionally, this device is equipped with a built-in CCD camera, allowing for comparisons with CCD images. Furthermore, by using optional transmitted lighting, it can measure transparent materials, the brightness and darkness of paper, and can be combined with manual or automatic stages for extensive measurements.
